Jean Haluska is an artist, educator, and traveler who lives and works in New York City. She's a multimedia artist who has exhibited her work nationally and internationally; additionally, Jean is an aesthetics theorist who also enjoys a broad range of philosophy and psychology. She presented a paper at the International Society for African Studies and Culture in her third year of undergraduate studies. Theory is inseparable from her work and it animates her person. Jean received full funding for her Masters of Fine Arts at the Ohio State University where she taught art for four years. Since then she founded and directed an art school for emerging and established artists at 3rd Ward Brooklyn and currently teaches art in New York City public schools. Jean has traveled independently to Ecuador, Thailand, Uganda, Morocco, Mexico, Peru, and Europe as well as taking an 11,000 mile road trip around the United States. In Jean's free time she volunteers as an advocate for assault survivors at a Manhattan hospital. Come visit her in her studio in Bushwick, Brooklyn.
